The motherland has been in my lens for many years. Some images were kept like digital postcards—quiet keepsakes for my time in the diaspora. Others, like the ones below, were shared publicly from 2010 onwards. Some of these people and places no longer exist. Some remain unchanged.

As a Kurdish lenswoman, I’m drawn to everyday moments—scenes of normality that ground me in a home-grown realism. These frames are my way of honouring the beauty, grit, and character of Kurdistan.
